We are sad to announce that Dr. Kara Brooks is relocating with her family to Charlotte, NC. She will be dearly missed by all of us here at Family Dermatology and by so many of her patients. We very much appreciate your patience. We will reach out to you to reschedule any visits you have with Dr. Brooks after August 10. Practice Policies


Patients must be accompanied by an adult if less than 18 years of age.

What to bring

Please be advised of the changes in our policies to meet the Federal Trade Commission Red Flag Rules in identity theft prevention.

Family Dermatology staff will ask patients to bring the following  information at the time of visit:

  • Driver’s license or other photo ID
  • Current health insurance card; and
  • If the patient is a minor, the patient’s parent or guardian should bring the information listed above.


We take most major insurances.   Since contract participation with carriers can change, we suggest you verify our participation with us or with your insurance company by dialing the toll free Member Service number listed on the back of your id card. Your carrier may also provide access to a list of participating providers on their website.   Your insurance carrier determines what services are applied toward your annual deductible,  some services  such as wart treatment with chemicals or liquid nitrogen, biopsies, or other services defined as office surgery by your insurance may be applied toward your patient responsibility/deductible (this is not an inclusive list – please check with your carrier regarding your benefits).

No refunds unless the patient is evaluated and it is determined that a reaction to product has occurred.
